چکیده
Background: Diabetes mellitus is increasing among the population. If early diagnosis and treatment can be done, complications reduced. Although there are studies evaluating impact of diabetes on joint motion, limited examining ankle range motion its correlation with duration or severity diabetic neuropathy symptoms. This study aims to examine angle dorsiflexion it’s symptoms Methods: Descriptive in Government medical college, Thoothukudi. 72 patients attending outpatient department Medicine Neuromedicine a tertiary care hospital, ranging from 40 75 years were included out which 36 non-diabetic. Ankle was measured using goniometer. Severity assessed Toronto Clinical Neuropathy score recorded. Results: Mean Age (Diabetic group) 59.28±8.06 Vs 56.08±10.16 (Non-Diabetic group). Proportion decreased (77.8%) significantly higher than non-diabetic (47.2%) (Z=4.52;p<0.0001). Chi-square (2χ) test showed that significantassociation between (in degree) (p<0.0001). Angle neuropathy. Pearson co-efficient significant negative (r=-0.61;p<0.001). Thus increase significantly. Conclusions: It found lower as compared also concluded sensory have an inverse relationship motion.

Effect of whole body vibration on ankle joint proprioception and balance in patients with diabetic neuropathy
Introduction: One of the most common manifestations of diabetic peripheral neuropathy is postural impairment and proprioception deficits. Whole Body Vibration (WBV) is a relatively new somatosensory stimulation, the effects of which on balance and proprioception in patients with diabetic neuropathy have not been adequately studied. This study aimed to investigate the effects of WBV on balance a...

This study was performed in order to determine the loss of strength of the dorsiflexors in healthy persons after immobilization of the ankle, and the ability of these muscles to regain strength. First, isometric ankle dorsiflexion strength was measured in 33 healthy male and 39 female subjects in age categories 20-40 and 40-80 years, in order to obtain reference data and to determine the reprod...

BACKGROUND New reliable devices for range of motion (ROM) measures in older adults are necessary to improve knowledge about the functional capability in this population. Dorsiflexion ROM limitation is associated with ankle injuries, foot pain, lower limb disorders, loss of balance, gait control disorders and fall risk in older adults. The aim of the present study was to assess the validity and ...
